Our next show is the Library show. The theme is Beyond the Beaten Path and we will be hanging the show on May 17th from 5-7. Work needs to be wired to hang. We do a scavenger hunt for adults with the show and they do a drawing for one winner of an 8×10 (or equivalent) print of their favorite picture so if your picture is the one chosen you will need to provide either a print or a digital file so we can make a print for the winner. The show will run through July 15th
Please email information for tags to Sue by May 15th
Include Title, your name, A few sentences about the piece, and Price (or NFS), Also, two items in each picture that could be used for the scavenger hunt (something easy for the kids and something harder for Adults) I am leaving town the morning of May 18th so I really need all of this emailed to me ahead of time so the labels and scavenger hunt are ready on Set up night. suefinch@suefinch.com
Which leads us straight into the Art Walk. We will be hosting the show at the Presbyterian church. Set up will be Tuesday July 19th from 6-8. We have decided we will not have judging categories, but will do a People’s choice. Art Walk generally is looking for newer work, but work that hasn’t been displayed during a previous Art Walk (even if it is older) is fine. The Art Walk is a good time to pull out your best work, and prints and a few framed pieces will usually sell. The Art Walk is Friday July 22nd, and then we will have open hours on Sunday, Monday(1-4), Wednesday(1-4), and Friday(10-2) after the Art Walk as required by Destination Downtown.
There will be wall space, and display walls 5ftx18 (4), and we may also borrow some display walls from Parks and Rec. We will have sign-ups for space once we figure out how we want to arrange the space. John and Nancy will check with the church about hangers.
Our Fall Olivedale Show – we need to double check the dates with Nancy and get a committee together to run things. The main priority will be deciding on judging categories so people have time to get their displays figured out.
