MPPC December Minutes

Attendance: Rhonda Angel, Chris Angel, John Lambert, John Daniels, Eric Reiner, Peggy Arvay, Janice Thomas, Kenny Balthaser, Bev Johnston, Bonnie Johnson, Nancy Lambert, Katie Holmes, Misty McGiffin, Sherry Hamilton, Kamal Kassouf

We discussed dues and decided to change the dues from $24 to $25 for individuals, and from $36 to $35 for families in order to make giving change easier (so we aren’t dealing with a bunch of singles). If you have not already paid your dues please plan on paying at the January meeting.

Sunday December 12th Field Trip – German Village

We plan on meeting at Shiller Park at the Shiller statue, at 3 pm. We are hoping to get some daylight shots, grab a bite and then get some night shots of the lights. This is an opportunity to get some City Lights, and Christmas Time shots for scavenger hunt this quarter. If anyone would like to car pool you can contact Kamal to make arrangements. He has one seat in his vehicle and if we need more he can contact others to see if they can also transport people. kkassouf@columbus.rr.com

The Fairfield Medical Center is closing its offices on Broad Street. If you have work on display there it will need picked up in the month of January. They are open 8:30 -4:30 Monday thorough Friday. Remember to ring the door bell , and wait a bit sometimes it takes them a while to get to the door. Please plan to have your work picked up before January 21st. I will stop in on the 31st to check on any stragglers(but will be out of town the last two weeks of January).

Scavenger Hunt due at our January meeting. We decided to go back to the 4×6 prints. Please bring them to the meeting or send them in with someone else if you can’t make it. Categories are: Fall Color, Christmas Time, Low Key, High Key, Walls, City Lights, Open this quarter. All pictures must have been taken in October, November, or December of 2021. Please put your name on the back of your 4×6 prints. Winners will be posted on our website, FaceBook, and bu put into frames at Olivedale.

July Art Walk – Nancy believes we could probably have our display at the church – would we want to turn it into a show where members each have their own display boards? We will discuss.

Spring show update from Misty. The teacher E-mail is ready to go out. Visit Fairfield County said they will put it on their page. Dates are March 17th-20th. Set up will be Thursday the 17th, Judging on the 18th and open to the public 19th and 20th.

Judging categories are: Plants, Animals, Macro, Human Interest, Winter, Still Life.

Larry is still having health issues and we want to wish him well. Hopefully we will see him in January.

Janice showed her picture that was chosen for a local Calendar for the August picture.

Kamal had a presentation on Photographing Holiday lights and he brought in some lights to play with. A few of us also went upstairs and took a few pictures of the churches trees. Thanks Kamal.

Donations from the group included: A dozen calendars for the Veterans, 39 assorted toys and 9 books for Maywood Mission, 9 large bottles of juice for the Foundation dinners. For the Foundation Shelter 17 warm hats, 6 pair of gloves, 6 packages of socks, 2 packages of underwear, 2 packages of undershirts and one warm muffler scarf.
